An opportunity to join our Trust Board
We are looking for dedicated local professionals who are passionate about education to join our Trust Board. Governing is a highly rewarding role that offers both professional and personal development, as well as the chance to make a difference to the life chances of local children. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in leadership, chairing, recruitment, strategic planning, budget control and data analysis.
As a trustee, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the trust and ensuring strong outcomes across both mainstream and special education settings.
Trustees will work together to ensure:
- Strategic leadership – defining the vision, fostering the trust’s culture and setting the strategy
- Accountability and assurance – offering robust and effective oversight of trust operations, financial performance and educational outcomes
- strategic engagement – oversee relationships with stakeholders, ensuring decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement.
We welcome interest from individuals from a range of backgrounds, particularly those with experience in finance, risk, HR, law, community engagement, or property and estate management. Most importantly, we are looking for individuals who can offer commitment, integrity and the ability to think strategically. We offer all trustees an induction and ongoing training to enhance your governance skills.
Trustees will typically be asked to attend six full board meetings a year, as well as committee meetings and school visits.
For further information or to submit your expressions of interest please contact Susanna Atassi Wagner, Trust Governance Manager, by email at susanna.atassiwagner@whptrust.org.
