The White Hills Park Trust was formed in 2012, taking its name from and comprising the three local schools that had been working together since 2007 as The White Hills Park Federation:  Alderman White, Bramcote Hills, and Bramcote Park.  The Federation was the first of its kind in Nottinghamshire, bringing together three schools under one executive leader.  The schools, operating under various names since the 1940s and 50s, had all achieved specialist education status in Languages, Sports, and Business respectively, and their collaboration and years of experience and success brought huge benefits and opportunities to their students and to the wider local communities.

In 2017 Bramcote Park (by now renamed The Bramcote School), merged with Bramcote Hills (by now only a 6th Form centre) and became known as Bramcote College, moving into the Bramcote Hills estate and allowing the ageing Bramcote Park buildings to be marked for redevelopment.

After operating for almost eight years as a secondary-only Multi Academy Trust within Bramcote, in 2020 the Trust expanded and welcomed its first primary school, as Brookhill Leys Primary School in Eastwood took the decision to academise and join the Trust under a new name: The Florence Nightingale Academy.

The following spring, two more local schools academised and joined the Trust; Springbank Primary School, also in Eastwood, joined under the name Springbank Academy, and John Clifford Primary School in Beeston became a member of the Trust on the same day.

Talks were already underway with other schools, and in 2023 the Trust welcomed Foxwood Academy, a special school in Bramcote providing education for young people  with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities aged 3-19.

Since then, the Trust has continued to grow and flourish, welcoming two schools from Arnold: Arnold Mill Primary School and Arno Vale Junior School, and also The Lanes Primary School in Chilwell, one of the largest primary schools in the county.

In 2025 the Trust’s founding CEO, Dr Paul Heery, retired from his role and we welcomed Claire Shaw into our team, bringing a wealth of experience from across the world of education to begin an exciting new chapter of our journey.
