Behavioural Teaching Assistant
based at Bramcote College

Fixed Term until August 2023 with a view to extending further subject to funding.

Grade 4 – Points 8-14
£20,493 to £23,080 FTE  |  
Actual Salary - £17,471 to £19,676

32.5 hours per week 8.30am – 3.30pm Term Time Only

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new to Bramcote College and other local settings. We are looking for a teaching assistant who can work within our new Enhanced Provision working specifically with a small group of pupils who have a variety of Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH) in Key Stage 3 and 4.  This provision aims to provide a nurturing base for students to access core and foundation learning sessions, whilst also maintaining a link with the main school setting.

We are looking for someone who is able to build relationships effectively, who has experience or a willingness to work with SEND and more specifically students with behaviours that challenge. We seek to recruit someone who is able to use initiative, think creatively about engagement and motivation, has experience in either Primary/ Secondary or SEN settings and who can work well within a team.

The main duties within the role will be:

  • Supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis who struggle to manage their behavioural difficulties via therapeutic and teaching supports, to access their learning.
  • Liaising with the school SENCO and SEMH Lead around progress and areas for improvement.
  • Resolving situations where challenging behaviour has arisen.
  • Support with creating bespoke curriculum resources and reward plans to maximise engagement in class
